A twisting tapered chilli that is moderately hot. The exact heat of the Hot Portugal varies significantly between pods, ranging from a mild 5,000 Scoville Heat Units to a significantly spicier 50,000 SHU. When fully mature the Hot Portugal has a sweet and fruity flavour; this is when they are most commonly consumed, due to their increased flavour compared to their unripe counterparts.
Not to be confused with the almost identical Jimmy Nardello, which carries no heat!
