Yellow 7 Pod (7 Pot)
The 7 Pot got its name because its thought that just one of these chillies is enough to add heat to 7 pots of stew. Slightly milder than its red and chocolate counterparts.
The Yellow 7 Pod, also known as the yellow 7 pot, is highly sought after and difficult to obtain. This super-hot got its name because its thought that one of these chillies is enough to add heat to 7 pots of stew.
It has never undergone official heat testing, but is thought to measure in at somewhere between 800,000 to 1 million Scoville Heat Units (SHU), slightly milder than the Red 7 Pod.
Here at Chilli Seed Bank, we think the Yellow 7 Pod is the most tasty of the 7 Pod varieties - sweeter and fruitier in taste. The Yellow 7 Pod is easily recognisable thanks to its yellow flesh and pimply skin.
The 7 Pod has multiple varieties, including the 7 Pod Red and 7-Pod Douglah.
Warning: extremely hot ~ caution this chilli will not discriminate; Under no circumstances should one of these chillies be left with an unwitting person, especially a child.
