Black Czechoslovakian
A European heirloom chilli, the Black Czechoslovakian looks like an almost black Jalapeno until it ripens to a deep red, but it is milder and sweeter.
A European heirloom variety that produces many pods, that turn green to a deep purple and mature to a dark red. It's a pretty plant, with purple stems and leaves. The mature fruit looks like a deep coloured version of the Jalapeno, but are a little less mild in heat.
When unripe, it is subtle in flavour, but when fully ripe it is sugar sweet with a tiny chilli kick. The fruit is thick walled and are best consumed raw in salads.
