A rare plant that produces very small upward-growing pods. The fruit may be small, but they pack a punch with their Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) being around 175,000, the average heat being slightly hotter than the highly popular Thai Birdseye.
This chilli is also known as Piri Piri, which is Swahili for 'pepper pepper'. This plant is considered easy-to-grow and is a good producer, and reaching only 35-50cm in height it's good for those with limited space.
